And then, as if to prove her wrong, her foot slipped on a wet, mossy rock. She hissed through her teeth as one leg shot out from under her, and only a frantic scramble and grab at a window ledge stopped her falling all the way.
I just recently found out that not only did my mother fall over close to when I was due to arrive 2 or 3 weeks, I believe she told nobody at the time, I was then born very early, not long after the fall, not surprisingly & to top it off with the cord wrapped around my throat that they said, not surprisingly either, it’s been there some time, most likely the fall did it. If I needed any other proof I wasn’t really wanted, that kinda confirmed it. Love you too Mummy Dearest.
