When she asks questions like this, she tilts her head to the side and she wants to know the real answer, what he really thinks. He’s not sure there’s anyone else in his life who asks questions without an answer in mind.

It’s exhausting to watch the two of them pretend to like each other, saying one thing when they mean something else. He would have thought by this point they would just be honest with each other and with themselves. Now he understands that will never happen.
