To the survivors who hid their wounds and built something beautiful out of the destruction
“In all the world, there is no heart for me like yours. In all the world, there is no love for you like mine.” MAYA ANGELOU
It was supposed to be a simple kiss, but it’s not. It’s an awakening.
I’ve been aware of my tendency to use humor to shield the people in my life from the shadows lurking in the corners of my mind for a long time.
“I think desires can be born out of any circumstance, good, bad, or ugly, and still be valid representations of the things we want for ourselves. The source of the desire doesn’t matter so much as what we do with the dream it sparks in us.”
It feels good, slaying a dragon on my own. Walking away from battle having benefited from the solid foundation I trusted my partner to lay.
Your smile is the thing I want most in the world. I spend every waking moment trying to find new ways to get you to give it to me. I wish for it on every shooting star and repeating number on a clock.”
I’m not the girl I was before Trent, and part of me hates that I’ll never be her again, but I like this new version of me. She’s a nice mix of the girl who was hurt and the one who saved her, and I can’t wait to see how she continues to grow and change.
