The room was full of tall towers of data storage units, each one breathing heavily as the heat-sink paste lathered on the components struggled to keep up with the continual addition of more information.

Thermal paste is used on the interface between the heat sink and the device producing the heat. If you coat the whole heat sink with paste, you're probably reducing its efficiency. And why are the heat sinks just sitting out in the open? And why isn't the place adequately cooled?

Watson’s eyes were the wrong color again, though not like before. They weren’t the sickly yellow from the Centauri attack, but an eerie shade of purple that Jacklyn had never encountered—the unseeable purple of a supergiant star, or the cosmic purple of a celestial event. The droid pulled aside the top of its uniform to show Jacklyn where it had inserted Otto’s data chip without saying anything.

The unseeable and cosmic purples? I realize the author is some kind of astronomer, but what???
