But when I remembered that they had spurned and deserted me, my rage returned. Rage beyond control.

I gnashed my teeth and screamed and vowed hatred and vengeance on all mankind. But the pain of the wound overcame me and all at once everything went dark.

I was haunted by a curse that shut all paths to joy.

You can crush my other passions but my revenge remains. Revenge will be dearer to me than light or food.

Revenge consumed me. Revenge provided my strength and composure. It shaped my feelings. It made my mind calculating and calm when madness or death would have been my fate.

I was cursed by a devil and carried with me my eternal hell.
