Going Zero

People, when monitored, are simply nicer, he believes, and when they step over the line, expect a swift countervailing response. Is this the dark fascist fantasy of a police state? No, no. He rejects that. Think of a fairer world in which the impulse to do evil just got a whole lot less attractive. Was there a better gift he could give?

To create a killing field for truth and so instigate violence and death on the way to finally sacrificing democracy itself to private surveillance capitalism and nudging us all toward Armageddon? No, ma’am. I guess I don’t approve.
