“Goodbye, Regin,” I said, shocking him into freezing. “Oh, and fuck you.” I lifted my chin and walked on toward an uncertain future, knowing that I should count myself fortunate for having one at all.

“I’m ready for whatever comes, as long as it involves you.”

“You’re my mate, Fia, but you’re also my heart. You’re in my blood as much as I am yours. You don’t just belong with me. You belong here with me. With all of us.”

“I fucking love you, Fia. I’ll love you regardless of what you choose to do with me.” I stole her hand and placed my lips upon her palm. “Until every star burns out.”

“You’re not even wearing shoes.” I waved him off. “That’s not exactly unusual.”

“Until every star burns out.” My lips grazed hers as I vowed, “And the moon ceases to hunt the sun.”
