They say you should never judge a book by its cover. But what about a house?
I assumed then that I would never know and that this couple would remain a mystery to me forever. But I was wrong. It wouldn’t be long until I found out exactly who K and J were and when they lived here. And when I did, things would never be the same again.
But that is doing nothing to alleviate my guilt, and all the way home, I can’t shake the feeling that something very bad is about to happen.
‘You see, we used to live here, my husband and I, many years ago now. We noticed the house had been sold recently, and because we haven’t been back here in so long, we had the idea of perhaps calling around to meet the new owners and possibly seeing how the place has changed over the years.’
All I know is that I’ve done some things right and some things wrong, and I’ll probably carry on that way until the day that I die.
