That should create a sense of ease within my soul. It does…but it is replaced with another weight. Who am I if Alana’s safety isn’t at the forefront of my mind? With that constant known ruling my every decision, the safeguards I firmly put into place, crumbling before me. What does that mean for me now?

Longfellow advised the importance of seizing the day and living a full life by seeking constant improvement and progress. But he also acknowledged that the road is not without struggle, and one must practice patience.
