the Talmadge Memorial Bridge in Georgia, nearly six hundred feet above the Savannah River,
The highest clearance of the Talmadge Memorial Bridge over the Savannah River is 185 feet (56 meters).
In 2017, the Savannah City Council voted to strip the name of the former Georgia state Governor Eugene Talmadge from the structure due to his unabashed antiracial, openly white supremist policies which defined the Democrat party that he represented. It is purposed to be simply called the Savannah Bridge.
