Ezra snapped his eyes back to the road and slammed his foot down on the brake, his arm instinctively reaching out to shield Ana from lurching forward too far.
It was all just too painful to imagine what humans are truly capable of doing to one another.
The inside lobby of the library was huge, bigger than any library she had ever seen. It had massive swooping marble staircases, dark wooden floors and a large reception desk that looked older than anything else in this building combined. The whole room was warm and cosy, filled with the smell of old and new books, the sounds of footsteps on wood, and the thoughts of the academics who studied there.
“What are you looking at?” “You.” He smiled, leaning against the door with his shoulder. “You are beautiful with your little crown on,”
