He enjoyed torturing me too, because all he’d done the whole damn day was gaze at me with hearts in his eyes or seduction playing at his lips. He was imagining all of the things he wanted to do when I said the word go. I couldn’t help watching those clever fingers toying with the scarf. He was torturing me on purpose.

“Yum. You cooked this?” He feigned an offended look. “Lavinia, I’m more than a pretty face and body. I do have other abilities outside the bedroom.”

“Lavinia. I’d break the whole world to be with you.”
