If we focus on hypotheses about the external world, the real-world hypothesis certainly seems simpler than the simulation hypothesis. After all, the simulation hypothesis postulates both a nonsimulated world and a simulated world, whereas the real-world hypothesis has one world. Why postulate two worlds when it’s possible to get by with one?
