A person viewed in the context you encounter them in might seem irrational. But if you zoom out and look at their life in a wider view, their actions might make sense.

But it was sort of perfect for this moment, on the bottom of the sea in a ruined world, as if they were the only two people left, sharing a love that needed no words and had a language all its own.

Caring isn’t always the easiest thing to do. Indeed, those who don’t care are often happier.

“Change. Every generation grows up in a world a little different than their parents. For some generations, there’s more change than others. For some generations, the future seems like science fiction. And then their children end up living something that resembles the stories that no one believed in their own time. That’s the way of the world. Some changes are for the better. Some for the worse. But always change.”

We can’t fight the future, but we can plan for it.
