The plans have changed, that’s why. Little alien Aria belongs to me. And I’m going to put my mortarekking seed inside of her.
I sit on the bed and pull her limp body into my arms. Our species, when breeding, have toxins that are released with our semen that immobilize the female and create a barrier within her to keep the male’s seed from spilling out.
I inhale her and then breathe out my words. “I will take care of you. This is what our people do. We breed and the males look after their females. “I will protect you as we work together to create our offspring. And once you have one in your womb, I will keep you fed and healthy. You will want for nothing. My little alien, you won’t have to lift a finger. I will care for you as dutifully as I do my entire faction here. More so because you are mine.”
His hands are reverent as he strokes my flat stomach and the crack in my chest seems to grow wider. Pride and hope glimmer in his stare. There’s nothing intimidating or infuriating about him now. Not in this moment. Right now, he’s beautiful and regarding me as though I’m his whole world. I’ve never been anyone’s entire world.
“I will rub your tongue with mine until you beg me to stop, little alien.” It appears I will have my after-dinner sweet after all. “Anything to bring you joy. I would never hurt you, not even with my teeth.”
“You are more important than my own life. Than anything. No solar is worth living without you in it. You are more addicting than any sun, and without you, my world is dark.
