I want to tell you that a few minutes ago I would have rather gone blind than not looked at your naked figure. Jessica bit her trembling lip—hard. His words, the most beautiful pain ever, became the bane of her existence. “I’ll never be normal. Will I?”

He took the washcloth from her and brought her hand to his lips, kissing the inside of her wrist. “I’m so … very … one-hundred percent … madly in love with you.”

“Rope?” He grabbed one ankle. She tensed. They had a brief stare down. “This is happening … We are happening,” he said it like a warning and a promise.
