I forced myself to keep my eyes on his face, but his slightly tousled sleep look was distractingly sexy. It didn’t help that this was Bo. I hadn’t been able to resist him when he was super skinny, with mild acne and braces. I was hopeless against this version.
“Man, I think the guys at the gym are doing it wrong,” Chloe said. “Manual labor is definitely the way to go.”
He licked a spot of icing off his finger, and I had to look away. There was no one, anywhere, who had ever made eating a cookie look so sexy.
Bo held up his cookie as if to toast me. “I don’t know, Maddy. Some risks are worth taking.”
Hey, so remember high school? I was in love with you back then. And maybe I still am. Want another cookie?
His arms tightened around me. “I’ve been trying to figure out a way to get you into my arms all day. Had I known it would only take the power going out, I’d have cut the breaker a long time ago.”
Bo leaned his forehead against mine. “I’m sorry,” he said again. “I was a stupid kid back then. But I’m seeing you now, Maddy.”
“Merry Christmas.” Bo leaned over me and pressed a kiss to my forehead, a simple gesture that did crazy things to my heart.
