Happiness can be defined as an emotion driven by, or dependent upon, the expectations of external circumstances being fulfilled; and it can come or go, hoping that we will be happy when this or that happens. Conversely, we are often not happy because something that we wanted did not manifest in the way that we expected.

Joy is fuel from the resurrected Jesus, the joyful One, to walk in this world as His representation.
