Get to the actual date as quickly as possible. The point of the apps is to meet people face-to-face, not to gain a pen pal. I’ve seen over and over the negative consequences of messaging too much before a date. When people text nonstop before a date, they end up creating a fantasy of each other in their minds (#themoneteffect). When they meet up, the person is inevitably unlike the fantasy, which leads to disappointment, even if they would’ve been a good match otherwise.
