GEORGE FOLSEY: I worked with a director who had come from the Sennett company, and they were all kind of a little nutty over there, I guess. He never would say, all right, let’s get a close-up. If he wanted to have a great big close-up of somebody, he would stand there and he would say, “Choke her, choke her, choke her . . .” I finally figured out that that meant get a great big close-up, up by her throat.
