In her new life, she wondered how the ever-loving heck people without a Hollis were supposed to avoid lives of crime after serving time.

She definitely spent plenty of time these days reflecting on how some combination of mental health treatment, substance abuse treatment, protection from an abuser, or a job paying a living wage would have likely kept the vast majority of Finn’s fellow prisoners from ending up there. Instead of helping them, society locked them up.

Going out to kick a bunch of politically active conservative evangelical Christians in the shins at this early hour wasn’t practical, and wouldn’t fix anything anyway. Probably.
