I decided to read one of my romance books because someone should get a happily ever after on this vacation even if it’s living vicariously through fictional characters.

After dinner, I read until dark. I had to know what happened at the end of my book regardless of my eyes being tired.

rush of emotions overcomes me as I think about raising our baby in the same small town community where Alex was raised. The baby will be cared for and watched over by so many who love him or her. A warm feeling rushes through me.

“I think I’m going to lie down and read my book,” she says with excitement in her tone. “I left off on this one chapter, and now I have to know what happens next.”

“It’s a boy? It’s a boy!” Alex jumps out of his seat still holding my hand. My head falls back, laughing at how excited he is right now. “I knew it!”

I’m going to write one of those truths about pregnancy books because that sugarcoated shit they fed me was a lie.

Though I was scared to death to become a mother, it all feels like second nature now. That unconditional love consumes me, and I never thought my heart could be so full. Between the love of my life and our baby, I’m living my greatest life possible.
