That’s her MO every time she kicks someone in the head. Why is she being predictable?
She moved that leg of hers, and he felt a half-smile form on his face, knowing what was coming, surprised she’d be that predictable.

‘I’m going for a ride, so if you’ll excuse me.’ She patted her leg for the puppies to come.

Jael rolled out of the furs, her tension unravelling itself at speed.

‘Ivaar,’ she groaned. ‘I forgot about Ivaar. We’re going for a ride.’
That fast? When she just mentioned him to the guys?
‘He needs our help,’ Biddy reminded her. ‘I know he does,’ Jael sighed crossly.
But you’re not doing a single thing to actually try to help him. You haven’t even given him the tincture.

She wanted to go to bed and find Edela waiting for her in a dream with a calm face and a steady stream of advice.
