Aurora is here to stay. I don’t fucking care what anyone says or thinks.
If he’s a hurricane, I’m the wind that gets off on the damage he causes.
A part of me is slowly leaving my body and creeping to his side, and although I’m aware of it, there’s no way I can stop it. He’s a steep cliff, and I keep rolling down, enjoying every bump and
He runs his knuckles over my cheek, and I resist the urge to close my eyes and lean into his touch. He always gets to me when he does that.
I’m breathless, caught in a trance by the way his lips glide over the back of my hands. He’s not only kissing them, but in his own way, he’s also comforting me. Who knew there would be a day where Jonathan King comforts me?
“Did you book the entire flight?” I ask Jonathan. “Didn’t need to. This is my private jet.”
“It’s so beautiful,” I murmur. “Indeed.” My attention snaps back to Jonathan, and just like the other time in the park, he’s not watching the view, he’s watching me.
“You’ve probably seen this scenery like a thousand times.” “It feels like a first with you.”
“Where are we going anyway?” I ask in a half-sleepy tone. “To my island.”
“Your smile, like everything else about you, is mine and mine alone. I don’t share.”
Whether I like to admit it or not, the King mansion has become my home. Jonathan’s home is my home.
“What was that for?” My voice is so lustful, it would’ve been embarrassing if I wasn’t so turned on. “To get your attention. It needs to always be on me.” He grabs me hard by the arse. “Not anyone else. Me.”
His grip tightens on my arse. “This is mine. Everything you have belongs to me, and no one gets to touch or hurt you under my watch.”
The way I look at him is more than pleasure and lust. It’s more than orgasms and dirty fucks. It’s something I thought I would never feel again after that black day eleven years ago.
Jonathan glances up from his tablet, and just like that, the serious expression slowly withers away. There’s still that usual harshness, the hardness of the man beneath. However, his features relax and his lips twitch in a heart-stopping smile.
How sad is my life if Jonathan is the highlight of it? Or maybe it’s sad because I waited so long for something like this, and I got more than I bargained for in this impossible man. He might be a tyrant, but he’s the best to ever exist.
“Catch me if you can, old man.” “Old man?” he repeats slowly. “Yeah, show me your stamina.” “I did, not too long ago, and you were so exhausted, you fell asleep on me, remember?”
“Any option that includes putting her life and mental state in jeopardy is declined.” “Levi is right to say you’re smitten,” he mutters under his breath.
She’s mine. Fucking mine. And always will be.
I don’t know how it happened or why, but Jonathan has effortlessly become an undivided part of my life. I couldn’t get rid of him even if I wanted to.
“In case you didn’t notice, you’re intimidating, Jonathan.” He narrows his eyes on me again. “Right.” “I mean it. You have a god-like presence that no one dares to come near.” “You did.” “I would always choose you.” “Always?” “Always.”
“Fuck that. Fuck anyone who’s not you, wild one.”
“The world is at the tip of your fingers.” “It is not.” “It is now. I’ll bring the world to its knees in front of you. All you have to do is ask.”
“Because the world needs to bend the knee for my queen.” My queen. My mouth falls open and my eyes nearly bug out.
He’s claiming me body, heart, and soul, and it’s completely out of my control. I can’t stop it, even if I wanted to.
Jonathan might be feared by the world, but as I stare into his sombre eyes, I find safety, belonging — feelings I never thought I would find again.
I’m not sure what it is about him that allows him to read me so well. I doubt it’s because of the age difference, which, ironically, I don’t think about anymore, and when I do, it’s more with awe than anything else.
Not only does Jonathan know me, but he also recognises my needs before I come to terms with them myself.
I wouldn’t share you for the rest of your life.” “You mean your life?” “Your life. Death won’t stop me, wild one. I’ll find a way, even as a ghost.”
Jonathan faces the press and says in a loud voice that everyone can hear, “This is my first and final warning. If anyone harasses my fiancée again, I’ll sue and destroy them in court.”
I’m not becoming deaf, right? Because I think Jonathan just called me his fiancée in front of the entire world.
He wraps a hand around my throat and pushes me so my back is pinned to the leather seat. His woodsy scent rushes into my lungs and it’s all I can breathe. His presence is all I can see. His touch is all I can feel. I love it when he does that.
He is my religion.
That the man I call my tyrant is also my safest place.
“No one hurts a fucking hair on your head, Aurora. No one touches you but me. Do you hear me? I’ll burn them all down before they put you through the hell from eleven years ago again.”
“I’m not protecting you because you’re a woman. I’m protecting you because you’re my woman.”
Jonathan just called me his woman. His. Woman. That should offend me in a way, but that’s the last emotion gripping my heart.
“What if she never comes back?” He sighs and readjusts his glasses again. “Then it’s better to let her go.” Let her go. I know what that means, and despite my black mood, I recognise it’s probably the best option for her. But how the fuck can I let go of the piece of myself I finally found?
He steps beside me, all tall and powerful in his sharp black suit. Tingles erupt all over my skin from just seeing him. Will there ever be a day when I don’t get tangled up by his presence?
Being so used to his touch, only for it to be abruptly taken away, is the worst type of torture he could’ve inflicted on me.
“This is your final warning. Provoke me with Ethan or any other man again, and I’ll fuck you in front of them. After I kill them, of course, because no one gets to see you naked but me.”
“Here’s the thing, Aurora. You won’t leave.” “I won’t?” “There’s no way in fuck I’m letting you go.”
Being with Jonathan is like free-falling without a landing. It’s finding oneself after years of being lost. It’s peace after a war. And it’s all because of him.
He called me his queen once, but what he doesn’t know is that there’s no king to my kingdom but him.
He’s the only person who’s made me feel safe, even though the world is scared of him.
“In case you haven’t figured out the answer, listen carefully, Aurora,” he whispers in dark words against my mouth. “I will not let you go.”
While I love how she comes undone under my touch, I enjoy how she curls into my embrace more.
Aurora barged into my life, wreaked havoc in my order, and disrupted my chessboard. At first, the moves she made were insignificant, but they kept escalating with time. By the time I noticed the changes, it was already too late to kick her out. Not that I would. If anything, I’m keeping her. All of her.
I honestly can’t imagine my life without her in it. If anything, I’ve forgotten how I used to live before she came along.
