She was wearing a red dress which hugged her perfect figure and showed off her long, bronze legs. Her dark hair was half pulled up in some kind of messy bun and trailed over one shoulder, looking like an artist’s version of just fucked. My mouth dried out as I watched her, my heart beating faster just looking at her.
Gabriel smiled widely. “Yeah, they know how to party.” “How the hell would you know that?” I asked. “You literally just met them.” “Maybe psychically,” Gabriel replied dismissively like I was the one acting weird, but I didn’t see how he could just claim vision friendships with people and act like he didn’t have to put in any fucking groundwork to actually make that into reality.
I didn’t think I’d ever seen a girl I desired as much as her and I couldn’t stop myself from drinking in the sight of her even while she stood insulting me right to my face.
“I didn’t know it was your birthday,” Gwen said, her eyes on Lance like she was surprised by the news. He gave her a half smile, seeming a little embarrassed. “I don’t usually like to celebrate but Gabriel and Darius decided to surprise me with a night out so…” Gabriel and Darius? What the fuck? I organised this whole thing and that asshole just gate-crashed it! “Well, happy birthday,” Gwen said, dropping down into the seat beside him and pressing a kiss to his cheek. He turned towards her as she did and she almost caught his mouth.
Gabriel jumped up and pulled the two of them into a hug over the table and Roxy laughed as she was crushed to his broad chest like they really were old friends. I didn’t get it. They’d only met him a week ago and he was their damn teacher, why were they instantly acting like they were best friends, offering out hugs and laughs and somehow making me feel like I was the odd one out at a party I’d fucking organised?
“Okay, but you might as well prepare yourselves to lose because me and Darcy are gonna whoop your asses,” Roxy taunted.
“I dare Roxy to be nice to me tonight,” I said and the others all looked between us. She sighed impatiently. “Pass. Give me the sour shot thing,” she said.
Because I couldn’t fucking help it. If she was here and looking like that then every inch of my attention was going to be on her whether she wanted it or not.
“That stuff is fucking awful,” she said. “But it’s still less painful than fulfilling that dare would have been.” I laughed before I could stop myself. That girl had bigger balls than half the guys I knew.
Roxy barely broke a sweat and came out swinging on the other end of it.
but I was more focused on Darcy’s bare leg pressed up against mine and her black dress which had a v-cut dropping all the way down between her cleavage. I wanted to run my hands all over it while I tasted the strawberry daiquiri on her lips.
Darcy laughed and I shot a smile at her. Her hand landed on my thigh beneath the table and my dick jumped to attention. “Are you gonna do it?” Her big green eyes sparkled and the way she bit into her lip with excitement had me tumbling into insanity. Fuck it.
The only way my girl was going to stay here for the night was if her sister stayed too. And more than that…she was important to Darcy. I supposed I could make an effort for her. No matter how fucking uncomfortable that might be. I pointed at Tory and her eyebrows shot up. “Come on, thief, I seem to recall you’re great at stealing things.”
“Not as good as you are. Honestly, I don’t think half your friends have realised you have no personality yet,” Tory said airily then firmly went back to ignoring him. On reflection, maybe bringing up the time Tory had burned his room down and stolen his draining dagger hadn’t been the best move. But it was too late now.
Tory cracked a laugh, shaking her head at me. “That guy is gayer than the day is long, dude. So you flirt with him and I’ll get the neckerchief.” She slipped away into the crowd before I could respond to that and I scraped a hand through my hair, remaining in place. Shit.
Gabriel jumped up to let me back in my seat and I turned to Darcy with a dark smile. “Your turn, Blue.” “What’s the dare?” she asked as my gaze slipped down to her lips and my insides knotted up. What I’d give for the whole world to freeze right now so I could steal a kiss.
didn’t want to think he was having a shitty time because of our current company. Some of the most important people in the world to me sat around this table. Him included. I wished he could get along with them.
I was drunk. So fucuuuking drunk. And horny. Plan of dreams: Step one…get Blue naked. Oh shit wait, I need more steps.
“You’re speaking out of your ass,” Darius said, leaning into me. “Why does that make me lucky anyway? You hot for Tory? Cause I’ll beat your ass.” He clenched my shirt in his fist and I blew out a breath of laughter. He half looked like he was joking and half looked like he meant it.
“I dunno, man. Cotton?” I plucked at the shirt and Darius leaned into me, bringing the seductive scent of his blood with him. “You smell like freshly baked bed... I mean bread.” “Do you wanna bite me, Lance?” Darius laughed darkly, catching my face between his hands and squeezing until
“Look after her,” he said before heading over to say goodbye to them then stardusting himself out of there.
Wait, did he say look after her? Why not them?
The bond between us grew sharper and I clutched onto him. “I’m gonna miss you,” I said out loud even though I’d meant to say it in my head.
“Blue.” I smiled dreamily, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. She is so…everything. Does she know how everything she
“How many?” she asked breathlessly. “Four million, three hundred thousand, two hundred and ninety eight – no make that ninety nine times.” I hardened between her thighs and pleasure bounced through my limbs as I raked my fangs down her neck. By the sun, this girl.
“Nothing,” she sang. “Look away Mr Grumpcakes.” “That’s Professor Grumpcakes to you,” I teased and she snorted a laugh.
O U One kiss anywhere you like. My pulse elevated as I flicked to the next one. I O U One strip tease. “Oh fuck yes,” I breathed, thumbing through the rest. “There’s only one condition,” she said cheekily. “You can only use one at a time. Don’t be greedy.” “I’m nothing but greedy when it comes to you.” I grabbed her waist and she slinked away, holding out her hand. “Well you’ll have to control that. So…would sir like to redeem one of his vouchers?” she put on an overly posh accent and I barked a laugh.
Raise Hell by Dorothy played and as the heavy pound of rock music filled the air, Darcy hurried across the room to kill the lights. I was plunged into darkness a second before she cast a fireball which hung above her, twisting and turning, lighting the room in a deep red and gold glow.
She ignored me, crawling up onto my desk and sending a stapler and a pen pot crashing to the floor as she pushed them aside. Her dress rode up even higher as she knelt up then dragged it over her head and spun it above her before tossing it away. Fuuuck.
“It’s just…this is Orion’s belt,” she started laughing harder and I grinned. Her blue hair tickled my chest and I reached up to bunch my hand in it, tugging backwards to make her look at me. “It is. And Orion wants you to take it off right fucking now,” I commanded
had been so long since I’d felt content. But with her, I was starting to see glimpses of my old self, the guy who’d loved life, who’d had a future. And I hadn’t realised how much I’d missed him. “Happy birthday, Lance,” she whispered and for the first time in fucking years, it really was a happy one.
“Besides, Lady Petunia has danced with many courtiers this week. How on the moon would I even remember what your floppy spatula looked like?” “It wasn’t floppy!” Max snapped. “And hang on a second, are you saying you’ve fucked a bunch of dudes since me? It’s only been a week!” “I’m not going to stand here discussing how many breadsticks I’ve dipped in my honeypot since yours, Max Rigel. It’s none of your business.”
have a date with a fine gentlefae tonight. I expect he’ll see to Lady Petunia’s needs just fine.” “Which Fae?” Max demanded. “And why would I tell you that?” “Because I’m gonna break his legs,” Max growled.
Darius’s eyes flipped to us, clinging to Tory for several long seconds. Did he realise how obviously he was checking her out? His eyes were practically stuck to her cleavage.
The second Washer’s hands landed on his hips he straightened so fast that the back of his head smashed into Washer’s nose. The professor stumbled back into the water and a laugh tore from my throat as his legs went over his head. Tory grinned and for a moment she shared a smile with Darius before they quickly turned away from each other.
She returned to her seat and every hair on my body stood to attention as she placed a photograph in front of us. It was from last night. Orion was leaning in close to speak to me and there was a stupidly bright smile on my face as I gazed up at him under my lashes. Worst of all, my hand was resting lightly on his arm and before us was a line of empty glasses.
Orion cleared his throat, picking up the photograph then tossing it back down with a breath of laughter – how is he freaking laughing right now?
“I have a crush on him.” I cleared my throat, looking anywhere but at Orion. Nova sighed, turning to him. “Well it wouldn’t be the first time, would it? Whatever will we do about that face of yours.” She tittered. “I’ll try growing a thicker beard,” Orion taunted and I chewed the inside my cheek as I felt Nova’s eyes scraping over me.
“I’m seeing Francesca Sky,” Orion said lightly and my jaw clenched even though I knew it was a
“It’s not worth it,” I said as tears burned the backs of my eyes. Was I really calling things off between us? It didn’t feel doable. Like the bond between us was made of solid iron. “Yes it is,” he said, dropping his head to try and steal a kiss, but I turned my head so he couldn’t.
Orion sighed, leaning in to speak into my ear. “I can’t stop, Blue. I know it’s fucking insane. But I’ve stopped caring about the consequences. This thing between us gets stronger every day and I can’t fight it…can you?”
He locked his arms around me, crushing me to his chest. “You know…that’s the first time you’ve admitted you want this to have a future.”
“No,” I choked as another sharp crack sounded from my ribs. I reached up to his face, clutching his furry cheeks between my hands and his snarling expression softened. His pupils dilated and a soft whine escaped him. Fury bled under my skin as his claws ripped into my flesh and I poured fire into my hands, letting it tumble from my veins in an explosive wave.
“Detention, Capella!” Orion barked. “You were warned.” “What the thuck! You bwoke my nothe you thucking thycopaff!” Seth shouted as he got to his feet, blood running freely down his face.
Darius leaned back in his chair, folding his arms with a frown in place. “That day will never come,” I said with a shrug because it was true. The more time I spent in Tory’s company, the more obvious it became to me. She wasn’t the kind to bow, no matter the pressure put on her. And despite the differences between her and her sister, it was clear they were the same in that regard.
He pressed his thumb to the Gemini symbol as he thought about what to do.
“Nothing,” Max ground out. ”Yet.” “Seriously?” I asked. “You’ve got a thing for our biggest critic?” “Says the guy screwing the girl who might steal our throne,” he tossed back.
“I don’t want another girl,” Max said simply, his gaze on Geraldine as Orion moved to talk to her. “What the fuck is happening to us?” Seth groaned, swiping a hand over his face. “First you two are fighting over a Vega – a Vega who doesn’t seem to want either of you half the time might I add. And now you’re chasing the president of the fucking Ass Club, Max! I don’t even recognise you guys right now.”
