I tug her to me and give her one last deep kiss before I tell her, “You’re in my bed tonight, Princess. Get rid of him.”
“I leave you alone for five minutes, and you’re already overthinking,”
“You done freaking out?” he asks once I settle. “Probably not,” I admit. I can feel his silent laughter through his chest. Asshole.
“From hate to love. It’s a tale as old as time,”
“Okay. Have it your way. Take your ass back to New York and hide. I’ll drive you to the airport myself, but first, you’re going to sit your ass down and hear what Jefferson has to say.”
