“I might’ve told him I’d rough him up if he got near you . . . or words to that effect.”
Everyone stared at the grown man smashing a gingerbread house to smithereens with his bare hands.
“He told me he was in love with you.”
“He’s married, Kate,”
“Please stay,” he said.
Their lips met.
“Sarah and I split up,”
“I took it out on you because I was angry that I was still in love with you. Am in love with you. Have always been in love with you.”
Kate leaned over and kissed the words right out of his mouth.
