That’s the thing about creativity: You don’t need to see the whole path. You just have to take the next step.
Traditional schooling irons out our creative impulses in order to prepare us for the factory and the cubicle.
Action is identity. You become what you do. You don’t need permission from anybody to call yourself a writer, entrepreneur, or musician. You just need to write, build a business, or make music. You’ve got to do the verb to be the noun.
The only question that matters here is, what would you be excited to try?
Safety is an illusion in the realm of following your heart—a lie sold to us by suckers who are invested in protecting small lives and thoughts. On your path, nothing you do is perfect, but all of it is right.
Your life is not a democracy.
So explain to me, where’s the glory in failing to get something we never really wanted? If we’re going to get a dose of failure along our path, shouldn’t we taste it while going after what we really want in life?
The deeper you go, the closer they will come.
Make meaning, not money. Pursue your values.
could you ever really have made something worthwhile if it hadn’t come from your heart?
When we hide what makes us unique in order to get people to like our work, we neuter our work.
What price are you willing to pay to live your best life?
Fluency as an artist boils down to developing the skill set to make things look, sound, and feel the way only you can.
You can’t be all things to all people.
The act of mastering one thing will enable you to master many others.
“The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.”
How can you keep your mind open, happy, and positive? Because, let’s face it, the quality of your life is determined by what you think and feel.
“If you don’t know where you want to go, how will you ever get there?”
