People say the Moon can hear your troubles, and its spirit will calm you and ease any trouble you might have.
“If you loved her as much as you think you did, you would have tried. If she loved you as much as she said, she wouldn’t have put you in the position to have to. Sometimes, things just aren’t meant to be.”
If there was anything I’d learned over the years about relationships—with significant others or family—it was that toxicity could twist you into someone you’re not. It’s hard to see it happening in the moment, but one day you look back and don’t recognize the person you are compared to who you were when you started out.
I’m just tired. Bone deep tired. The kind of tired sleep can’t fix.
As my mind stumbles over that pervasive thought, a slender arm snakes around my waist and a new warmth presses against my back. I freeze, unsure of how to react. Luna lets out a tiny sigh, the most adorable fucking sound I’ve ever heard and I close my eyes. She’s still asleep. The Moon sleeps and likes to snuggle.
He knows what I am and he saw me with my Little Witch.
“Maybe comparing her is the problem. She has more value than I think you give her credit for,” Luna adds,
“You’re spectacular, Alandra.”
Family hates you? Check.” “They don’t hate you.” “They don’t love me either,” I whisper.
“By letting you be the best you that you can. There’s no right way to exist, Alandra. They can love you correctly by loving your life.”
“Let me love you, Little Witch, at least while I can,”
“Love, if you only knew how much joy knowing you has been. Even if they end me, my existence has been more full since you summoned me than it has been since my creation.”
“It’s beauty belongs to you, Little Witch.”
