Alandra Michaels is your everyday, run-of-the-mill, ordinary witch. She doesn't have an affinity for an element, like her sister. She can't speak to the dead, like her mother. Even her familiar--Beezelbub the moth--is a plain, non-threatening insect. Alandra is fine with that; she knows what she is and what she isn't.

Or so she thought . . .

When a spell goes wrong and

I was in the mood for something witchy for Halloween and was happy to see that this audiobook is available on Scribd.

Ultimately what we get is an f/f romance between an untalented witch, Alandra, and the human manifestation of the moon herself, Luna. It's cute.

I was expecting something pretty light with warm fuzzies, which it has, but the story also surprised me. There's a decent amount of darker family drama and the last section of the book is a dramatic action sequence as lively as Harry Potte
This book fucking killed me!

I love witches and for a while haven’t been able to find a good one but this one checks all of the boxes. Not only is it hot with very steamy f/f rep, but it’s fucking emotional. I teared up a few times

The premise reminds me of Stardust but without the epic fantasy aspect (its urban fantasy what would you expect). Alandra is a 29 year old musician. Her family doesn’t understand her, her magic isn’t very good, the whole bit. During a Yuletide ritual she accidentally su

This was a really beautiful story. I love how it was crafted and what we got to see from this, it was really well done. I haven't read anything by Poppy Woods before, but this was perfect to start with.
It was a really well done F/F romance. I have read some really bad ones, and this was believable and it made sense. I also liked how open Alandra is, and how she describes the witching community.

Now, this could have been 100 pages longer to say the least. It did at times feel a lil rushed which

QUEER WITCHES FINALLY. Sign me up for more paranormal books like this, yes please.

This was such a cute story about a witch who accidentally summons the Moon celestial and how they have to keep her safe until the Solstice. Some witches were awful in witchy history and tried to kill Celestials for their powers, so everyone must be on high alert.

Alandra was such a funny character. There were so many small things she did that were easy to relate to, especially losing track of time. I loved her mot

You want the moon? Just say the word!

Alandra is a witch, but she's got very limited powers compared to her high achieving parents and siblings. She's been shamed and outcast for her lack of prowess, and aimless direction in life and love.

When she casts what should be a simple blessing spell over the house, she invokes the moon itself. The beautiful Luna.

Alandra is sarcastic while Luna is intrigued by the earthly world and this little witch. Their chemistry sizzles. However danger stalks them.

I love this book and love Lori prince, but the voice that she gave Luna was the WORST! I preferred reading this one.

My rating varied throughout my reading. It was a two at the beginning, it rose to three after the introduction of Luna and the "unknown" narrator who I thought would be a bait-and-switch villain, and it dropped down during the action of the last chapters.
I am giving it one star instead of two because I deeply disagree with the refrain Alandra's family and eventually her celestial (therefore irrefutable) bae repeat that "You have to forgive X, because they love you" and " I sense this person is

A very sweet (but not very talented) witch accidentally summons “Luna”, the Moon Goddess, to the witches living room. Then Luna can’t get home. This causes problems in earth’s magic society and for her family, all powerful witches. It’s a great romance with a HEA

Light. Sweet. Easy read.

An adorable romance between a witch and the moon. Who could ask for more?

This is an emotional, sweet and beautiful love story with obstacles and villains, and I loved it to pieces. One of my favourite authors in the world comes once again with a completely different and unique story unlike anything she wrote before. Need I emphasise how much more I love her for it? Yes, I adore her from here to infinity.
And apart from being sweet and beautiful, it is also full of hope and forgiveness and new beginnings and all sorts of wonderful. This story is like a modern fairytale

If you purchase this book be prepared to have tissues nearby, you will ugly cry like bad. Do not wear make up when reading!! Now with that little tidbit out of the way, this book is freaking amazing. This is typically not a book that i would read but I love Poppy Woods writing style, so naturally I want to read anything she writes. I am so glad I did. Now you meet Alandra who is not a strong witch and was asked to bless the house for Yule. Only to have Luna show up

With a nonsensical romance that goes from dislike to love without any reason or warning (even sappy love at first sight would have made more sense), and enough racism (apparently southern hoodoo is evil) and sexism (every male in this story was a total dirtball) to put the final turd cherry on this crap sunday, it commits an even greater sin for a novel: it's just plain boring. ...more

I had a lot of fun with this one, especially with Lori Prince's narration through most of the book. The book is told from the first person perspective from Alandra's perspective. There are small sections that are from Luna's perspective, and those are read by Melissa Moran. I enjoyed having Moran play Luna's bits because I don't think I could have listened to Prince doing her version of Luna's voice. It's really high and reedy with a strange lilt to it that makes everything she says sound like s ...more

I picked up this book through Kindle Unlimited and sorry, I just really don't like it. I've only read a few chapters, so maybe the book picks up later, but so far, the prose is very, very bad with lots of telling rather than showing, and there's no hook. So far, we learn that the main character has broken up with her girlfriend, there's tension between her and her parents because she's not good at magic, her sister is an alcoholic, and the sister's boyfriend is a perverted creep. Nothing of note ...more
This was fine. I liked the primary protagonist a lot, and the set up, but the payoff fell kind of flat. There were a lot of epiphanies, where characters who'd treated Alandra poorly in the past, suddenly had a change of heart about their behavior, and the narrative push for her to forgive them left a kind of sour taste in my mouth. The romance was fine, the sex scenes were fine, the HEA was fine. It was just... fine. ...more
Celestial goddess as one of the love interests. Dark magic and evil witches battling the good witches. A fun story.

I really enjoyed this story and it's rare for me to finish a book in one day so that must mean something.

Luna and Alandra are so adorable both of their perspectives were interesting to read from. The writing was great, funny and you can feel the MCs characters shining through their chapters.

I will read more books from Poppy Woods since she has more f/f standalone novels.

Sweet and funny and a perfect place to lose myself for a few hours. And I love the cover art.

3.5 stars. Recommended.
Oh my Goddess, I LOVED this story so much! I'm so happy that this author gave me delightful characters like Alandra and Luna because I could easily relate to Alandra's never-ending family drama and the sense of loneliness that has plagued Luna for ages. Nothing about this story was predictable and I am tipping my coffee mug in high praise of this author's flawless writing. I always treasure stories that keep me braced for unforeseen circumstances coupled with swoon-worthy moments between two gor ...more

This was a pretty good story about a witch who somehow manages to summon the embodiment of the moon into her living room and I did enjoy it, but it could have done with being 100 pages longer, which is not something I usually say about the books I've read. I could have done with more development of the MCs relationship before they confess their undying love or each other. What I read was good though. ...more

This review is for those who aren’t into FF books. I’ve never been a fan of FF books, but I am a fan of Poppy’s and this book was totally worth going out of my comfort zone for. Alandra has such a crappy life except for her sister Laney, but even Laney doesn’t get how bad things are for her. Enter Luna. I really, really liked Luna. She’s unexpectedly pulled out of her world yet manges to take it in stride. She has the perfect mix of worldly experience, child-like wonder and serious bad-ass power ...more

Fun from Cover to Cover

This is a lovely read all the way through; the characters are charming and have a surprising depth, and the story is well-constructed with a thoroughly satisfying ending. There are places where the narrative becomes slightly predictable and areas where there could have been a touch more polish, but the author's style is engaging and humorous, and I had a blast every moment I spent in this lovely little world that had been so carefully crafted.

I dont read F/F to be honest, but I love the writing of Poppy Woods. So I was willing to give it a try, and I'm glad I did it!

It's such a sweet romance, Alandra and Luna are adorable together and Poppy outdid herself with this story! And really hope for the next story at which she hinted in her afterword.

A must read even if you dont like F/F

Great story to climb into and get lost in its pages.
So it’s a yes I do recommend it.

Honestly just wish it had been longer

Absolutely loved the story, my only critic is I wish it was fleshed out more. To me the story and Luna and Alandra's story moved a little too quickly and I wish more had been detailed. The story was great and original though! And I loved the way Poopy writes her characters. I can't wait to read more by her.
