JG doesn’t usually write characters like this. Seems very condescending and not healthy. Kind of disappointed.
This sounds awful. Manipulative, abusive, gaslighting even. I’m remembering why I stopped half way through last time I tried to read this book.
Why is there so much focus on her weight and being “fat” in this book?

Even after all of that, she’s still not good enough to take over the family company because she’s not daddy’s little republican son.
Trip has just has creepy frat boy rapist vibes this whole book. Yuck!
She’s not being a brat by leaving a toxic environment. I wish she’d leave the cabin and head back to the city and get some therapy and go low/no contact with her parents.
