This stands out to me. there is a deeper story there. - we don't get any more explained on this line of the book, so I'm not sure what this would have been in reference to. I feel like this could have been an attempt to throw us off the trail, or it could have been a hint at something deeper that we aren't seeing on the surface.

have a “date night,” which is a polite way of saying we rented a room at the Two Pines with the intention of fucking like teenagers.
