It reminded me of the potential of working-class solidarity, and how tragically those bonds have been continually undermined by people in power, how the presence of black people has been spun into a threat rather than an opportunity to strengthen working-class culture.

Racism and prejudice are cages – a prison sentence alienating those who hold these attitudes from the beautiful diversity of the world – and I pity people with those afflictions.
