ok i can see the early set up for the parallels between ian and grey and i love this energy

we’re 30% in and i can already tell the plot of the book like why...

like the author never described the difference in talent gap between sydney and the other characters like explicitly like she’s only shown the different spells they can do but if sydney is supposed to be better than everyone else then the author never explained what the other magicians can’t do?

also- i’m so confused by syd’s new green powers like wtf is that it made no sense how can she get magical powers from someone else’s spell?? and just she gets to keep it??? for something that should be a major plot point it doesn’t act like it...

???? what. this whole part makes no sense
