I knew I’d go to that game tomorrow and sit beside her, and try to be around her in whatever capacity she’d let me — simply because I wanted her that bad.
It took everything in me not to say those words out loud, not to drag Gemma out of her seat and into my lap and ask her to tell me everything she loved about the season.
“Yeah, yeah, good morning,” she said, waving me off. “Let’s skip the pleasantries and get right to the pleasure. Tell me things. How was the dick. Did he eat your pussy like it was a cupcake again?”
“Would you stop being so… happy?”
“You’re scaring the patrons.”

“Wait,” Micah said from Zach’s other side, his eyes narrowing as he scanned the field. “Where are the cheerleaders? Are they inside or something because of the rain?” “There are no cheerleaders,” Zach answered. “WHAT?!”
“No way. I just know no other brunette could compete with the chick sitting beside you right now, and you know I hate losing. Gotta keep my eyes open for a hot blonde if I want a chance here.”
“Inhale, you bitch.”
“What?” He shrugged. “It’s a great word for emphasis, and that sentence needed it.
“Or wait, would she be holding you? Or vice versa?” Dad chuckled. “It’s a metaphor, son.” “I know, but I don’t understand which is which and who — oh, forget it.
“Jesus,” Micah said, shaking his head as he picked up the ticket. “Now even I want to chase after the girl.”
“Well, I know it’s almost kick-off there, I just… I just wanted to see you guys on the big day.”
