The shoulder joint should stay “locked” against your firm downward pressure, and the subject’s arm should not give way. 7.  Now have the subject make a statement that is obviously false by using a name that is not their own. Feel love for your subject, gratitude that this will help them, and offer a silent prayer for divine assistance. 2.  As if you were turning down a dimmer switch almost all the way, turn down the muscle strength or tightness in the resistance finger, so it is just strong enough to remain holding straight out.
