The world in which Jesus lived never knew peace, yet no matter how hard the powerful tried, they could never steal his peace.
We have no control over the reality that in this world we will have trouble, but we have control over whether we decide to allow our hearts to be troubled.
When we live our lives afraid, it creates turmoil and chaos within us. Fear is the enemy of peace.
Peace does not come because you finally have control over your life; peace comes when you no longer need control.
You cannot be made better than you are if you choose to live your life with those who would settle for less.
In the most practical sense, what matters most is how you see life. Your internal mind-set designs your external world. If you believe the world is full of possibilities, it is. If you believe the world is filled with fascinating people, you will find them. If you believe the future is waiting to be created, you will create the future that is waiting for you. If you believe in love, you will find love. If you believe in hope, you will find hope. And the reason you will find them is because you will bring them with you.
One of the great traps on earth is to spend more of your time and energy trying to own things rather than owning your life.
The symptoms of mere existence are evidenced in our deep sense of disconnection, desperate loneliness, and prevailing meaninglessness. To not know love is to merely exist. To not have hope is to merely exist. To live without intention is a symptom that we have lost our lives and know only existence.
What is it that ignites your passions? What are the moments in which you feel most energized?
Nothing will steal our strength like living lives we do not love.
Imagine the power of those who no longer choose to stand in the middle but instead choose to stand for love against hate, for forgiveness against bitterness, for hope against despair, and for freedom against injustice.
Imagine if each person who today is simply lamenting the decay of society would instead gather all their energy and begin to do something to make the world just a little bit better.
Get in an environment filled with optimism and hope. Allow your soul to be nourished by the courage and inspiration of others.
When you are full of life, you become a conduit of life. You will become a source of what is good and beautiful and true. People will naturally draw inspiration from your life. They will see you as a source of hope. If you want to clearly see the world you have created within you, look at the world you have created around you. The warrior takes mastery over their energy and becomes a source of life. The warrior is a life source.
In the same way, when the warrior is filled with hope, they fill the world with hope; when they are filled with joy, they fill the world with joy, when they are filled with love, they fill the world with love.
