We'll see about that.
Lucas looked across at the icy perfection of Sascha Duncan and wished he knew what it was about her that was bugging the hell out of him.
Sudden head-hop here. It's a little jarring tbh. We'll see how it plays out. Maybe this is third-person omniscient.
“They deserve our claws, not our pity.”
Either Dorian is still disappointed by his trist, or he wanted to be with her as an experiment as well... or, more likely, this is just poor characterization.
What she couldn’t figure out was whether it was because he was trying to charm her or because he was lying.
Why not both?
But there was something different about this one, something he wanted to sink his teeth into.
Thematically, it would have more impact if she wasn't "flawed".
The aim of the training had been to teach her how to exploit changeling and human weaknesses, but she’d used the information to mask her own flaw.
And we're just learning about this training now?
“Our world is harsh.” Especially with the Psy in charge. Without changeling heart and human spirit, the world would’ve been hell.
The romance is a little off-kilter and there's a huge cast of characters, but I actually really like the world in the backdrop. I hope it gets developed more.
“can you think of any other race on the face of this planet with the control to do something that heinous and keep exactly to a set pattern?”

“Oh, and the autopsies showed that their minds were literally mush though their skulls hadn’t been damaged. Who can do that aside from the Psy, Sascha? Who?”
Oh, that would have been nice to know 20 pages ago.
Never in her life had she felt this much sensation, this much pleasure.
Roll credits.
It was a mass of data and the only controlling factor was the influence of the NetMind, which tried to make order from chaos. An entity that had evolved into its own separate sentience, it wasn’t alive but it thought in a way that took it beyond mere machinery.
I wish stuff like this was mentioned MUCH earlier.
The panther said that she was safe and the panther ’s instincts had never been wrong.

“What happened to her boot?” Nate frowned. “It looks like most of mine.”
I laughed out loud. Not gonna lie.

He was the most perfect product of Silence.
It's been a while since this was mentioned. Maybe the Netmind and it are one and the same: the lost sum of Psy emotion... still governing them from the dark.
