lit the twelve candles on the cake, a special one of course, no sugar,

The flour to make the cake has carbs, it’s not just sugar that raises BG.

the country we so loved, suppose at four fifty p.m. eighteen days ago, it died. It died from complacency, from blindness, from not being willing to face the harsh realities of the world.

I’m willing to bet there were a hundred reports floating around Congress warning of this, experts who truly did know their stuff screaming that we were wide open to it.

Diversity worked for them only as long as you toed the line with their views,

The crime, the real crime, was those who truly knew the level of threat doing nothing to prepare or prevent it.

or were they safely hidden away, the special bunkers for Congress, the administration, where food, water, and medicine for years were waiting for them … and their families?

We were so damn vulnerable, so damn vulnerable, and no one did the right things to prepare, or prevent it.
