Only a fraction of the Prodryan race are actively warring against the entire galaxy. True, the remaining Prodryans also want you dead, but most have other priorities than making it happen right this moment.
“I find it best to include ‘everything goes to hell’ as part of the plan.”
“I heard about an old human power called hypnosis,” whispered the first scanning tech. “They could control your thoughts with pocket watches. Maybe they’re still out there, but making us think they disappeared.”
Instead of smelling like skunk, she now smelled like lemon, wildflowers, and skunk.
“I would like to resubmit my request for a weapon,” said Cate. “And I repeat my suggestion that you go drown yourself.”
“The objective isn’t to kill. It’s to hold off the Krakau as long as we can.” “Killing them would hold them off permanently.” That was a fair point, dammit.
“I know none of you could see that,” said Wolf. “So just trust me when I say you should be very impressed.”
“I was mistaken,” Cate murmured. “Your plumbing supplies were quite effective. Perhaps the Prodryans should look into plumbing-based artillery of our own.”
