He had the thoughtful, slow-speaking way of someone kind who would claim he wasn’t in the slightest. Someone soft. Seong-Jae had little experience in dealing with softness, and he did not want to start now.
He didn’t look the type, but then real people never did. Real people only looked like themselves, instead of their sexuality.
“Very well.” George swiped up the menus with a baleful stare, then tromped off, muttering under his breath; Malcolm couldn’t catch much of it other than I’ll very your fuckin’ well.
“Aren’t you a sweet boy. And handsome, too.” She turned that wide smile on Malcolm. “Isn’t he handsome?” Malcolm groaned, dragging his hand over his face. “Janine.” Janine only smirked, tapped a few more buttons on the screen, and bustled away, leaving them alone. Malcolm thought Yoon would leave it alone, until that soft, fluid voice lilted mockingly at his shoulder. “Well, Khalaji? Am I handsome?”
Malcolm couldn’t quite read what was in his gaze, but something about the way Yoon was looking at him made the tight knot in his chest ease its hold just enough to let him breathe.
