You must learn to focus, Maisey. One thing at a time. When you are cooking, cook. When you are studying, study. When you are cleaning, clean. You must learn this skill if you want to succeed.

We need food and shelter first, before we need anything else, because without those things we will die. Then we need people to love. Once we have people to love, then we can learn to love ourselves and start working toward the things we are good at, the things that make us happy.”

Wrong order of priorities. Abused women often don’t love themselves enough to seek safe shelter.

A gig taking Santa photos at the mall during the holiday season isn’t exactly a resume builder. It was fun, though. I loved every minute.

😂 I did the same job at Oakland Mall during the early 70’s. I got a chuckle out of this. It’s one of the first times I’ve seen it in a book. Us Santa helpers appreciate it. It WAS fun.
