Normally, this would’ve scared me and brought on a panic that we might crash. Now, it has the opposite effect: it calms me. We might crash. If we do, this ends. Another part of me whispers, I need to know the future . . . I need to prepare

The blue sea beyond the stone balustrade glows with the fire of stars. It’s as if the sky fell into the sea.
