This Is Me

I will never believe that it is weakness to “retaliate” with kindness. Our culture has become an arms race of nastiness. I refuse to do it. I don’t presume to think that I changed X; only X can change X (now I’m a math teacher). But I do know for sure that if I gave in and let her see me cry or let her see my anger, I would only confirm something for her: my weakness.
