there are so many ways we can connect if we are willing to be vulnerable.

My advice is to give people the opportunity to surprise you, and to grow with you as you become the person you want to be.

The whole time, the universe was conspiring for me in ways I couldn’t understand, certainly not back then. I was getting what I would need for my journey.

As adults, we sometimes have a guilty-until-proven-innocent approach to people. We make them prove their worth to us. But if we accepted newcomers to our lives as cool at the outset, and then got to decide if they live up to our openhearted expectation, I think we’d all be a lot happier.
