So often, we don’t think we’re deserving of things. But we will sprain a wrist reaching for our wallets to help others. Buy the laptop. Or the dress. Enroll in a class. Whatever it is, you’re worth it.
You can get in your head and totally allow that voice to ruin a good thing. That voice in your head is not real. Feelings are not facts.
You have everything you need to get to where you want to be.
You are hard-wired for this dream, and you’ll make things happen once you stop waiting for things to happen.
You’re worthy of time, attention, and love. It might not be easy to accept it right now, but act as if it is. And soon, it will be.
setting boundaries isn’t about being a diva, it’s about self-care.
I want you to show up for yourself,
Continue to teach yourself that you are capable. Every time a situation arises where you are not sure what to do, I want you to resist that urge to put someone else first. Think about yourself in the same selfless way you do about Toby and your brothers. Being honest with yourself is the priority—you can’t control how another person will react.
But you make your voice important. And because you don’t identify solely with your body, you are open to so many other lessons that help you get closer and closer to the place you want to be.
You have taught me to embrace my rightful place in the world by asking for what I need and want and making no justifications for doing so.
