At a very simple level, from a personal perspective, individuals might well earn more by working for an organization than they could by working for themselves. Organizations, in the terminology of ‘shared value’ which was mentioned briefly in Chapter 1, are value-creating mechanisms; we can achieve more together than we can alone.
