Jesus Christ Almighty, in his life, death, burial, and resurrection, has killed the giant called anger.
The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart’”
Jealousy is a tough thing to carry because it causes us to compare and compete. It silences us from celebrating and affirming.
But a real and lasting fix seldom arrives instantaneously. God morphs our life little by little, bit by bit.
The key to real, lasting change in our spiritual life is consistently filling ourselves up with faith.
Giants seldom go away quickly. Our invitation is to continually remind ourselves that Jesus has already won. We continually need to link up to what he has done and who he is in us. Then we talk to ourselves like God talks to us. We tell ourselves biblical truths. When we do these things and align ourselves with the plans of God, then little by little things change.
We believe what God did for us is greater than what anyone could do against us.
Jesus has already done the real work, and the giant has already fallen.
By God’s grace, he has won the victory for us, and he will win the victory for us, day by day by day.
we aren’t perfect to begin with.
You, LORD, showed favor to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob. You forgave the iniquity of your people and covered all their sins. [Selah.] You set aside all your wrath and turned from your fierce anger. Restore us again, God our Savior, and put away your displeasure toward us. Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger through all generations? Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? Show us your unfailing love, LORD, and grant us your salvation.
God has made peace with us.
it was at the cross where God, in his holy anger, made peace with us.
God is our avenger.
God does the avenging for us.
“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.” And in verse 17: “Do not repay anyone evil for evil.”
God is bigger and more powerful than we can ever imagine. We may be hurt, yes, but Jesus is bigger than our wounds. Jesus is bigger than our sorrows. He is able to “repay you for the years the locusts have eaten” (Joel 2:25). The things that have been destroyed by injustice, Jesus is able to restore fully.
Christians are called to walk through the world with the heart of Christ.
“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”
We forgive.
By Christ’s power, we forgive the person we’re angry with.
“Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. ‘In your anger do not sin’: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.”

Forgiveness is a process. Sometimes we need to forgive a person more than once.
In that moment when you forgive, the Devil isn’t given a foothold. He can’t put another brick in the wall.
we are sons and daughters of God.
we’ve been chosen by a perfect Father. We
we are his sons and daughters. He has adopted us. He has chosen us as his own. God is perfect, and we are the children of a good, good Father. In his eyes we are loved and safe, secure and significant because of him. Thanks to Jesus, we have what it takes. Thanks to Jesus, we are loved and adored.
we live in a broken world, and that gives us plenty of reason to be angry. But being angry and allowing the giant of anger to cut the heart of joy out of our chests are two different things.
“let go and let God.”
We’re one of the most overstimulated generations of people in the history of the world.
this generation is addicted to all manner of things.
We are able because God is able.
An addiction is anything we can’t live without. We’re enslaved to this thing. It’s a habit we can’t break. It’s a person we can’t separate from. A pattern we can’t change. And it’s ultimately harmful. If left unchecked, the addiction devastates our lives and everything around us.
Accomplishments can be a drug.
Adrenaline can be a drug
Some people are addicted to pain.
