It does not matter that Erevair is not my son—I love him as if he were my own.
there is something special about Erevair. Perhaps I see him as the son I should have had, if I had resonated to Claire.
She has no smiles or sweet voice, and she stinks. Whoever resonates to her will have a tough trail ahead of him, and I do not envy that male. Well…I envy him a little.
“I will not touch her unless she asks me to,” I tell Chail. “You have my word.” “Honey,” she says with a small, bitter little laugh. “I don’t trust your word for shit.”
“Resonance is gross,” Zalene declares. “My mama says that resonance makes you want to put your tongue in the other person’s mouth. Yuck!” “You don’t need resonance to do that,” Erevair tells them. “I saw Vaza do that to Gail yesterday.”
“He wishes to be like me?” I am filled with pride and wonder. “Is it because…” I struggle to think of a word, then remember Ell-ee’s. “I am bat ass?”
