The Word calls us to remember in order to obey, as the apostle Peter explained when he said that our aim is Christian maturity that grows from faith to goodness, from knowledge to self-control, from perseverance to godliness, and finally from mutual affection to love. “For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins”
